Landscape Laborer

Job description

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Lay sod, mow, trim, plant, weeding, watering, dig holes with shovel, rake, blow leaves; spread grass seed, fertilizer and mulch; sprinkler installation/repair, installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning. May drive company truck to transport crews, plants, materials and tools to/from or at worksites.

The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week, Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, depending on weather conditions. Shift includes 30 minutes unpaid break time. Work on Saturdays may be required.

Basic wage rate from $16.04 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience and/or driving crews, and may provide additional pay for performance and tenure. In Ohio an overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek. In Kentucky an overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek; and if an employee works 7 consecutive days without reaching 40 hours the employee will be paid at time-and-a-half for hours worked on the 7 consecutive day in the workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $24.06 per hour based on locality the work is performed and the base rate of pay offered per hour.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Workers are subject to post-injury/incident drug testing, paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. Applicants must complete an employment application.
