Job description

•Minimum one (1) year of experience driving a truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight of over 17,156.37 pounds (7781 kg)
•Minimum one (1) year of experience driving trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products and other materials.
•Must possess Class A CDL or equivalent commercial driver’s license from Mexico or Canada
•Minimum one (1) year of experience as a commercial truck driver
•High school diploma
•Clean driving record
•Long-distance driving
•Must have sufficient grasp and apprehension to control an oversize steering wheel, shift gears using a manual transmission, and maneuver a tractor-trailer in crowded areas
•Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
•Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
•Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
•Intermodal container handling and chassis, safety inspection on bolt locks, lights, breaks, and pneumatic system.
•Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
•Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route.
•Software handling for login actual events
•Filling operational written reports logs, records, fuel sheets
•Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
•Arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary
•Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to company personnel
•Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
•Dispatch management for port and rail intermodal ramps
•Execute truck inspection for dot compliance pneumatic, electrical, suspension, and fuel systems
•Cross border knowledge between Mexico and the U.S.
•Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
•Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions
•Delivering loads or picking appointments to customers in a timely manner
•Able to squat, crouch, and reach as needed to handle freight; able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day
•Able to access and manually release the fifth wheel lever and tandem pins which requires horizontal pulling. This function may require increased force due to the condition of the equipment
•Meet all physical requirements established by DOT regulations

Special Requirements

Class A truck driver license or equivalent CDL from Mexico or Canada.
