Job description

Crops/Commodities:
Vegetables and nursery stock.
Workers will be working in a vegetable greenhouse facility unloading, placing, consolidating, moving, loading and shipping in the most efficient manner while taking into considerations specifications, presentation and quality. Workers will be required to work in the most efficient way, understanding metrics, standards, processes, and time frames to get the job done at the same time making safety their top priority for themselves and others. Employees must be able to handle 50lbs and be able to do repetitive work. Employees that show an aptitude to drive equipment will be trained and certified to drive our farm tractor or warehouse forklift.

Shipping Vegetable Trailers:
Loading vegetable orders from the greenhouse into the shipping trailers. The trailer capacities are 847, 910, 924, 938 & 981. The vegetable trays get placed into the trailers to then ship to the customer. Employee will need to understand how to read order numbers, varieties and different sized trays. The tray sizes used for shipping vegetables are 72s, 128s, 242s & 392s. Each variety loading in the trailer must have a colored ribboned, map and a signed pulled sheet by the crew leader.
Beat Out Line (Trailers & Bins):

Unloading empty trays from the trailers that come back from the farmers field after they have transplanted their seedlings. The tray sizes used for shipping vegetables are 72s, 128s, 242s & 392s. Trays must be passed thru the beating machine for beat out, classified and palletized. There are few quality specs for separating trays on pallets, these are new, old and half used trays. All trays palletized must be strapped and put away in the north shade house. All broken trays that have a certain percentage of missing cells will be thrown away. Please refer to SOP for specifics per tray count. The upmh are 240 trays per man hour, this means we should be able to unload two trailers per hour. A crew of 7 people should be able to unload two trailers an hour for 1680 trays. A crew of 7 people should be able to unload 14 large bins @ 117 each in an hour.

Shipping Vegetable Bins:
Loading vegetable orders from the greenhouse into the shipping bins. The bin capacities are 45s, 99s & 117s. The vegetable trays get placed into the bins to then ship to the customer. Employee will need to understand how to read order numbers, varieties and different sized trays. The tray sizes used for shipping vegetables are 72s, 128s, 242s & 392s. Each variety loading into the bins must have a colored ribboned, map and a signed pulled sheet by the crew leader.

TTA Movements (Placement):
To place all transplanted product in the greenhouses for production/growing to finish off. When placing trays in the greenhouses the pots must be spaced at a certain format per eps tray, for example the 1qt will be 8 per eps benching tray and the 2.5 qts are 5 pots per eps benching tray. Crews will need to understand how to read number orders, varietys and flagging on trailers coming from the TTA. A crew of 8 people should be able to unload a trailer every 30 minutes. Upmh are 90 trays per man hour, this means we will unload, place and space two farm trailers an hour.

Shipping Ornamental Pots:
Our end goal is to consolidate, load up, qc racks and ship to its final destination.

CONSOLIDATION OF POTS
Must be able to understand how to read a map with locations, row numbers, variety and count. Must be able to consolidate a tray always taking into consideration quality and a high standard quality product. Check trays to match style pot, pots to match style program and tagging to match program/plant. Quality and presentation must always be taken into place.

Special Requirements

Jobs are offered working in a greenhouse handling manual and mechanized tasks associated with commodity production. Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Employer-paid pre-employment and post-hire drug testing required. Criminal background check required.
