Job description

Safely move beet products in all weather conditions, based on road conditions. Always operate trucks in a safe manner, observing and following traffic signs. Report problems to supervisor, shop personnel or dispatchers. Maintain a clean trailer bed from mud and dirt during shift. Keep windows, mirrors, and lights clean during and at end of shift. Other duties as required by the business. Adhere to all company policies and all safety, food safety, feed safety, and sanitation rules and programs.

Employer will offer approximately 48 hours of work per week. Facility is open 7 days a week, workdays will vary Sunday through Saturday. Normal shift: 12 paid hour shifts 4 or 5 days per week (which includes breaks taken at the driver’s discression) that start hourly from noon to 7PM, and again from midnight to 7:00AM. Workdays and shift times may vary.

Basic wage rate: $24.90 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per work week. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $37.35 after 8 hours per shift.

Special Requirements

Must have a current CDL/Class A License/Class A
Must obtain a DOT health card within 7 days of employment. Cannot be scheduled until obtained.
No minimum education or experience required.
21 years of age preferred, but can be 18 if have completed an accredited DOT training course.
Must be able to follow instructions from Beet Fleet Supervisor, Truck Shop Dispatcher, and Agriculturalists.
Must pass a post-employment criminal background check, paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Applicants must complete an employment application.
Must attend safety classes at least twice a campaign.
Must have safe backing skills with 53 ft trailer. Use 4-way flashers and horn.
Must follow MN and ND rulebook for traffic laws.
Must be able to drive for 12-hour shift.
Must have a good driving record.
Must be able to shovel, scrape, lift, bend, walk and climb stairs.
Must be able to work in temperature extremes (cold and hot).
The employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. Uniform pieces provided at no cost to employee.
