Job description
Operate sewing or surging machine to sew our products. Sew accurate care labels into product.
Remove filled pillow shells from conveyor belt, close the opening, and replace return pillow to conveyor belt for further processing.
Guide pillows or parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together.
Remove holding devices and finished items from machines.
Place pillow shell over stuffer, fill shell with fiber, then place pillow on conveyor for further processing.
Bag pillows as they come through the conveyor.
Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.
Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.
Position items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides.
Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, tape, and hand tools.
Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
Carefully and safely use all company equipment and property.
Report any equipment problems to immediate supervisor, or the maintenance department.
Perform duties in such a way to ensure the safety of oneself and ones co-workers.
Responsible for production changeover duties in between work orders.
Perform other job duties as needed or assigned by Supervisor or lead.
Special Requirements
MUST BE ABLE TO LEARN TO OPERATE PALLET JACK
POSSESS BASIC MATH SKILLS
ABILITY TO OCCASIONALLY CARRY, PUSH OR PULL OBJECTS THAT WEIGH UP TO AND INCLUDING 50 LBS
ABLE TO AMBULATE OR STAND FOR A FULL SHIFT (12 HOURS)
Employees will be assigned either Shift 1 (6arn to 6pm) or Shift 2 (6pm to 6am) on a rotating schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off. 40+ plus hours per week, overtime will be compensated with accordance to state law. Shift 2 will be provided shift differential for overnight. 48 hours per week.
