Job description

Perform duties like: Fence, round cattle up to bring home from summer pastures, vaccinations, sort and prepare for birth season. Prepare for yearling to be shipped and sold. Calving season for 400 cows, bring moms and new babies into main barn. Weigh, medicate, tag, brand newborns, vaccinate new moms, tag moms, lice control, daily feeding of all 400 cows, 400 calves and 50 bulls. Clean stalls and place clean bedding as needed, move from birth place to main barn then on to holding areas. All upkeep on the calving sheds, cattle lots, water tanks, corrals, fences for the winter season. Spring sorting of cattle pairs and pasture prep for summer holding of cattle, shipping to pastures and continued fencing to keep cattle contained. All duties pertaining to care of livestock. Run loader tractors and bobcat to bring feed, straw, bedding, hay or remove manure from corrals and sheds. Run manure spreaders. Maintenance and equipment upkeep for cattle.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
