Job description
Job duties include operating farm equipment including tractors, skid steers, wheel loaders and ATVs to feed cows and calves, repair fences, and plant and harvest hay. Workers may be required to operate silage truck. Job duties will also include calving; working cattle; checking cattle; vaccinating cattle; feeding cattle; providing necessary care for livestock; tagging or branding cattle; lifting salt and mineral sacks to load equipment for distribution to cattle and fence posts and materials into pickups; setting posts and stretching wire to fix fences; loading pipe; using hand tools to repair fencing and chop ice out of tanks; perform mechanical repair and maintenance on equipment. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Workers are required to have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Workers must be physically able to handle calves when tagging, branding or vaccinating. Work duties will expose workers to winter and summer temperatures in NE, pushing and pulling, and extensive sitting and walking. Job will require being capable of lifting 75 lbs. Basic math skills is required. Average hours of work per week up to 55 hours.
