Job description
Workers will assist with all aspects of general greenhouse labor such as: crop production, crop maintenance and shipping functions as well as general maintenance of the premises from approximately November 14, 2022 through September 13, 2023. A list of all vegetables, herbs, fruits, and greens include: kale, strawberries, peppers, oregano, dill, thyme, rosemary, tomatoes, greens, zucchini, cucumber, chives, basil, peppermint, spearmint, green beans, squash, chards, sage, citronella, spinach, cilantro, asparagus and variety of flowers.
Workers will fill pots, baskets and flats with soil using hand or gardening tools or by a machine, plant, tag product, water, fertilize, and move plants in pots, hanging baskets, and flats in a greenhouse. Water, package, load and unload products from a truck or rack outside of greenhouse near loading dock. Lay driplines and tarps and insert driplines in pots and hanging baskets, Install irrigation system in greenhouse facility. Hand and gardening tools are used to tack-down tarp. Clean-up trash and maintain a clean facility inside and outside greenhouse. Cut grass with hand tools or mower, pull and spray weeds and mulch within and around greenhouse facility. Fix greenhouse racks. Grease tires on carts and racks. Workers must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., will frequently bend stoop and stand for long periods, be exposed to extensive pushing, pulling, walking and repetitive movements, and must have 2 months verifiable work experience in a greenhouse setting or in nursery production.

2 DAY TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER. The training period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm work and to familiarize workers with the job specifications and to demonstrate proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues.
