Job description

Ensure the work is performed as per MFE’s policies and procedures.
Ensure the work is performed as per the Clients specifications and contract requirements.
Secure a site for arboriculture work.
Promotes and maintains good customer and public relations.
Trimming, felling and removing vegetation from under and around power lines.
Lining up branches and piling appropriately for loading into the chipper.
Keeping tools in the staging area and safe zone.
Assuring that all lines are kept clear at all times.
Being attentive to the climber’s cues throughout the job, always keeping their eyes on the climber.
Fells trees or trims trunks; cuts into manageable pieces.
Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
Uses wedges, sledges, and chainsaws in felling trees or trimmed trunks and in cutting and splitting logs into manageable pieces.
Operates and services equipment such as: hydraulic tools, power saws, power winches, elevated work platform, chipper, and sprayers.
Uses ladders and hand tools such as hand lines, saws, block and tackle, pruners, etc.
Sprays brush and stumps with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth, making proper and selective application of herbicides, if qualified to do so.
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a woodchipper.

Special Requirements

Must have a valid drivers license.
Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
Must pass a background and/or MVR check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug and physical tests.
Must have no fear of heights.
Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 90 pounds on an infrequent basis, but up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
