Job description
Duties involve tending to livestock, cleaning pens, treating sick animals, sorting cattle, and operating equipment for the needs of the operation. Additional equipment operated will be for transporting feed and/or cattle. Various equipment will includes but is not limited to skid loaders, backhoes, forklifts, and heavy duty trucks. Workers will be expected to perform repairs and maintenance of sheds, fences, gates, barns, and equipment used in day to day operations. Workers will be required to use hand tools to repair, clean, and maintain vehicles and agricultural equipment necessary to the livestock duties. Duties will include building and maintaining fences, gates, barns and shop buildings; use of shovel/scoops, wheelbarrows; cleaning stalls; and climbing ladders, if necessary. Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; have 2 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Employees will be lifting feed sacks and hay bales; pushing/pulling wheelbarrows; bending over to clean stalls with shovels and scoops; and walking fences.
