Job description

Temporary Seasonal Position: Livestock Farm Worker | SOC Code: 45-2093

All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described & must be available for entire period.

Morgan Farms, LLC, Clay County, AR, Greenway

Possible shift: 7:00AM-3:00PM. 48+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Cattle. Duties may include: Assist with calving, tend to livestock after calving, move livestock to appropriate facilities after calving, inspect calves for illness/injury, treat sick/injured calves, provide calves with colostrum, order feed, retrieve feed from storage, prepare feed and mix in additives, deliver feed to livestock facilities, give feed to livestock, check feed equipment, clean/maintain feed equipment, place mineral blocks, inspect water sources/equipment, break/melt/remove ice from water, clean/maintain/repair water systems, deliver water to livestock facilities, give water to livestock, inspect livestock for illness and injuries, separate sick livestock from the herd, move sick/injured livestock to treatment area, administer medications/injury care, administer vaccinations, shovel away snow by hand, prepare snow removal equipment, clear snow from facilities, monitor livestock temperatures, confine livestock to stalls, groom livestock, herd livestock, brand livestock, castrate livestock, weigh livestock, spray livestock with insecticide, protect livestock from predators, inspect pens/stables, collect and remove manure, clean/disinfect pens/stables, remove dead livestock, prepare dead livestock for burial, bury dead livestock, remove old bedding, prepare new bedding, distribute bedding, maintain livestock equipment, transport cattle to pastures, construct fencing for livestock, maintain windbreaks/fencing, maintain breeding, feeding and cost records, prepare livestock for market, prepare documentation to sell livestock. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. & other related Livestock Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Must have 3 months Livestock exp.Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 75lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.75lbs. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hrs may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.

Must be able to obtain a drivers license. Must be 18 years of age. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show legal authorization to work in the United States. Cash advances may apply at employer discretion.
