Job description
Perform the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving livestock home from fall pastures in December. Fall cattle work. Pregnancy checking. Weaning Calves. Feeding cattle. Bedding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Maintaining feed equipment. Welding maintenance. Inspect livestock for injury and illness. Maintain winter fences. Open frozen water. Snow removal. Shipping calves to market. Preparing barns and cattle for calving. Calving begins the end of February through April. Cleaning barns. Repairing haying equipment. Hauling hay. Freeze branding cattle. Sorting cattle. Cleaning feed bunks. Grinding hay. Grinding grain. Drive to town to pickup cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
