Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock, such as cattle on farm. Maintain heated watering system. Operate snow removal equipment. Operate a tractor with loader and/or feeder wagon. Repair fences. Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock. Remove ice formed in water. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed using syringes and hypodermic needles. Apply medications to cuts and bruises; spray livestock with insecticide. Confine livestock in stalls; wash and clip them. Assist in delivery of offspring of calves, if needed. Bind or clamp testes or surgically remove testes to castrate livestock. Clip identifying notches or symbols on animal, or brand animal, using branding iron, to indicate ownership. Clean livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain buildings and equipment. Must be able to drive semi truck with cattle trailer to transport cattle to market or pasture. Must be comfortable around horses because we have horses on the property.

Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 125 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
