Job description
The pre-season maintenance tasks will be done to machinery during the months when farming duties have halted and the machinery is not in use. List of equipment: Case 9250 Combine, Case 9240 Combine, Humdingers, Rollers, Power Units (Multiple), Disk, Planters, 8 Case Tractors, John Deere Tractors Multiple, John Deere Spray Rig, Pumps and Trailers, Boom Truck, Pickups Servicing and light mechanic work, 4 Semi Trucks. All the machines and equipment will go through a thorough inspection, service, and repair process. Each machine will have a manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. This seasonal post-harvest work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done prior to any maintenance work. The work will include heavy lifting of machine parts and holding them in place during reassembly. The worker must be able to handle complex tasks that require logical thought, care, paying attention to details. Drive to town to pick up mechanical supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 12 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Must have 12 months experience or 12 months on the job training. Highschool/GED required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
