Job description

Employee will be working with a winter stocker operation that purchases light weight calves, runs them on winter wheat, and then backgrounds them. Job description includes analyzing cattle health and providing appropriate treatment, daily feeding, maintaining fresh water supplies, and providing appropriate animal weather protection. Details include cattle vaccination, cattle weight monitoring, cattle identification protocols, fence building and maintenance, and utilizing and maintaining appropriate equipment for the above-mentioned operations.

We buy stocker calves/cattle in the fall for December delivery. Once those calves arrive, they must be processed, fed and care for during the winter period. All stocker cattle are sold in March and no further care or help would be needed until the following season.

Special Requirements

Must have a regular drivers license. Job requires extensive sitting, pushing, pulling, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Require 3 months experience.
