Job description
Job requires receiving grain at elevator, preparing scale tickets, monitoring grain to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards, transferring grain to proper storage location, shipping grain from elevator as required, transferring grain from storage bins to truck bins prior to shipment, shoveling grain to remove grain that cannot be removed by automatic conveyor equipment, operating augers and grain conveying equipment, and performing housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained. Job also requires the ability to operate semi-trucks; perform maintenance and minor, miscellaneous repair; and climb vertical grain leg. Job requires tending to livestock in the forms of feeding, examining, tagging, and herding. The job will require workers to do the following tasks: feed cows daily, check cows daily, assist with vet visits, assist with medication administration, and clean pens. There are few typical days and workers may be required to engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop and weather conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
