Job description

We need seasonal help while our barns are occupied with layers. Workers will perform dry and wet cleaning and maintenance duties to prepare laying houses for pullets, to clean empty houses after layers are retired. Remove mortality as needed. Other duties may include operation of farm machinery, repair and maintenance of machinery. The dry-cleaning duties include using backpack blowers to blow down henhouses, sweep floors, clean lights and other miscellaneous cleaning and light repair duties. Wet cleaning includes pressure washing and spraying wet disinfectant to thoroughly clean henhouses. This job includes holding a pressure washing nozzle outstretched from your body for a number of hours in a very humid environment. Maintenance & Packing Packing/palletizing eggs, loading/unloading trucks, and cleaning packing room. Pick up refuse, clean and perform maintenance in and around the exterior of the farm. This includes painting and light construction. Removal of birds, cleaning. Litter Management - Maintain or remove litter (animal waste) from aisles in our organic barns on a daily basis during the fall/winter/spring season. Operation of motor vehicles a must. Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day.
Workers must refrain from the use of cell phones while working in the field. Workers may not use cell phones for personal calls, emails, or texts during working times. Phone use must be limited to break times and lunch breaks. A minimum of three months verifiable experience necessary in the aforementioned.
