Job description
The pre-season maintenance tasks will be done to machinery during the winter months when farming duties have halted and the machinery is not in use. List of equipment: 5 trucks and trailers. 8 tractors. 6 service trucks. 6 combines and headers. 2 pieces of seeding equipment. 8 pieces of tillage equipment. All the machines and equipment will go through a thorough inspection, service, and repair process. Each machine will have a manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. This winter work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done prior to any maintenance work. The work will include heavy lifting of machine parts and holding them in place during reassembly. The worker must be able to handle complex tasks that require logical thought, care, paying attention to details. Drive to town to pickup mechanical supplies.
Special Requirements
Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Must have 12 months experience or 12 months on the job training. High school/GED education required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
