Job description
Job duties require the operation of various farm equipment to grow and harvest the vegetables; remove snow when necessary; sort and pack product; wash and grading line operation; neatly and accurately recording bins and truckloads of product; and organization of tracking product inventory, organizing finished product within the cooler, and finish product inventory management. Equipment that employees will operate include but is not limited to forklift, telehandler, skid steer, bin rotator, sorting table, lift roller, drum style produce washer, roll topper, de-stoner, product conveyer, product elevator, air compressor, nail guns, electric and gas powered pressure washer, has powered diaphragm pump, and power tools (saws, drills, grinder, impact drivers, etc.). Manual duties include but are not limited to using hand tools as necessary, lifting items as needed, shoveling, sweeping, washing equipment, packing line, pressure washing, mechanical work, wooden crate repair, welding, working on foot, and wash line equipment maintenance. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Employees will be lifting parts, seed, bagged produce, etc. when necessary; warm work clothes are provided but the temperatures do get down below 30 degrees in the winter; sorting produce for several hours may require extensive standing; operating forklift may require extensive sitting; shoveling, sweeping, mechanical work, pressure washing, etc. may require frequent stooping or bending over; and repetitive movements may apply when sorting produce. Employees will be using basic arithmetic for weighing bins of finished product. Random criminal background check may be performed post hire at the employers expense. If employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR CFR 655.122(n).
