Job description

Beekeeping, care and management of colonies of honeybees. The process of beekeeping is known as Apiculture. It is the maintenance of bee colonies which are common man-made hives. Bees are kept in the bee yard or apiary.

Duties may include: Cleaning work areas, supering hives, extracting honey, cleaning and splitting hives. Maintaining, cleaning, and painting bee boxes. Care for bees by feeding, moving/relocating to different hives. Moving hives with forklift & other related Bee Keeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be 18 years of age. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
