Nursery Worker

Job description

Duties may include: Perform shipping/receiving functions which included but are not limited to the loading and unloading of vehicles, preparing cargo for shipment or storage. Moves plants or other items to different locations. May perform general clean up, preparation, maintenance and groundskeeping of facility. Fill containers with soil, take cuttings and start plants. Dump and clean containers to be reused. Manual, motorized tool use all day. Quality Control applies: Transplant rate: not less than 50 flats or 80 bskts per hr. Load: not less than 4 full cart equivalent loads/hr. Dump, recycle flats not less than 75 flats or 100 bskts per hr & other related Nursery Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/ refusal to abide = dismissal.
