Job description
Perform manual labor to landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Lay sod, mow, trim, mulch, rake, edge, and haul. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, and twin-axle vehicles. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Mow and edge/trim lawns, using power mowers and edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Lay sod. Haul or spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds. Decorate gardens with stones and plants. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears or pruners on the ground. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Gather and remove litter. Workers who have a valid driver's license may drive vehicles to transport workers and may be offered additional hours.
Special Requirements
Requires physical stamina. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. Work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, and in adverse weather. Company t-shirts provided at no cost and are to be worn at all worksites.
