Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving cattle to various pastures and back to the home farm. Hauling water to pasture without a consistent water source. Inspecting fences and fixing any issues that may occur. Feeding cattle and making sure they have water. Moving hay bales/water to various pastures. Maintaining feeding equipment. Fall cattle work/pregnancy checking. Multiple daily checking during the calving season. Working, branding and vaccinating cattle to protect the herd from disease. Weaning calves. Inspecting cattle for illness/injuries. Opening frozen water tanks/creeks. Snow removal during winter months. Moving cattle from home farm to pastures after calving is complete. Calving begins in February through April. Cleaning and maintaining calving barn. Helping with any issues that may arise while each cow has their calf. Drive to town to pick up cattle cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
