Job description

Duties may include: Due to the calving season for the livestock, workers may be requested to prepare and haul livestock on and around work site, check animal health and give medical care as needed, check and maintain cattle feed and water equipment, feed cattle, mix additives in feed to promote fattening. Build, erect and maintain cattle fences, gates and corals. Protect livestock from predators, weigh livestock, collect and remove manure from livestock facilities, construct wind breaks for cattle, break up ice in water troughs, operate equipment to haul manure, haul hay on hay trailer, load hay bales, use equipment to remove and haul equipment. Irrigate, cultivate and harvest alfalfa crop & other related Livestock Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 120lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid Driver's License in the State of New Mexico within 2 weeks of reporting to work.
