Job description
Perform primary duties on a farm for a farm like: Drive and operate farm equipment for the
planting, maintaining, and harvesting of crops in fields. During planting, this would include
attaching, moving, and/or operating equipment including tractors with planters and air seeders
attached; sprayers for maintaining weed suppression before and immediately after planting.
During the growing season, we would need field scouting to assess watering, weed and
insecticide needs; mixing, loading, and filling the sprayer; reporting and maintaining accurate
records. During harvest, the workers would be responsible for attaching, moving, and/or
operating harvesting equipment such as self-propelled combines, grain carts attached to
tractors, and drive semi-trucks to grain facilities. Mend fences. Secondary tasks include: dirt
work with the skid loaders, dirt scrapers, and loaders; nutrient application; maintaining field
equipment; loading, moving and baling native grasses; tree removal and weed suppression in
native grasses.
Equipment: Our operation uses tractors, sprayers, combines, and swathers.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry
items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is
required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive
movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work
with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
