Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Performs duties like drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store grain and forage crops. Attach farm implements, such as disk, planter, or drill to a tractor. Operate heavy equipment to clear land for farming. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment down the road. Drive and operated self-propelled combine and forage harvesters. Perform a variety of duties such as lubricating and repairing farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Drive manure tankers from the farm to the field to spread manure. Operate manure handling equipment. On slow days, worker may be required to perform duties such as cleaning equipment, farm buildings, and shop. Maintain farm grounds or provide preventative maintenance on any equipment. Move sand.

Crops: Barley, Corn, Grain, Silage, Soybeans

Equipment: tractors, trucks, harvesting equipment, planting equipment, spraying equipment, loaders, and grain elevators, manure spreaders

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Extensive sitting is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
