Job description

Worker will perform duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as chisel plow, disc and drill to tractor. Rock pick, rock roll and till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Maintenance of feed storage and repair/maintenance/clean agricultural buildings. Fence, haul feed, weed control. Cultivate grass for hay, rake, bale into round bales, and haul. Collect bales to stack and pack on trucks with skid steer. Transport bales to storage areas or secondary markets. Feed, water, herd, graze, castrate, brand, weigh, catch, and load animals, assist in birthing, administer medication, vaccinations, or insecticides. Maintain farm areas, using digger shovels on drills, plow and power wash equipment, maintain workshop, grain bins, use lawn mower, weed cutter, small outdoor equipment, hand tools and fill crop sprayer. General lubrication, pre-season repair and maintenance, in-season service (check fluids) and incidental repair. Remove rock and tree obstructions from fields. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
