Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery such as planters, sprayers and combines to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (Checking fluids) and incidental repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Planter Operator (PO) - It is the overall goal of this position to perform machine operations in the most timely, cost-effective and efficient manner possible. Enter date into monitor per directions; service and maintain operation of tractor and planter; service tractor and planter per daily check list. PO shall plant seed and maintain tractor and planter in optimal mechanical condition. PO shall input seed variety, lot number and population into monitor to assure information is recorded accurately. All duties are to be performed per management directions. All operations are expected to be performed in a safe and secure manner. Combine Operator (CO) - It is the overall goal of this position to perform machine operations in the most timely, cost-effective and efficient manner possible. CO shall be able to service and maintain combines based on management and operator's manual and recommendations; service combine per daily checklist. All duties are to be performed per management directions. All operations are expected to be performed in a safe and secure manner. Sprayer Operator (SO) - It is the overall goal of this position to perform machine operations in the most timely, cost-effective and efficient manner possible. SO shall be able to service and maintain Spray Rigs based on management and operator's manual and recommendations, service Spray Rigs per daily check list. All duties are to be performed per management directions. All operations are expected to be performed in a safe and secure manner. All duties must be performed in a safe and secure manner per management directions to include speed, boom height, and rates per acre.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers' expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
