Job description
Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine & Swather. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery, along with cleaning and up keep of operators station. Grease Equipment. Drive grain/potato trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area, cleaning and up keep of cabs. Rake, sweep, shovel, clean storages, sort crops. Physical labor will be part of your job in various degrees, but is not limited to only labor. Rake, Bale, Stack Hay. Must have experience repairing and maintaining equipment.
Equipment: Multiple Tractors, Swathers, Rakes, Big Balers, Stack wagons, Grain Drill, Combine, Potato Planter, Tool Bars, Harrows, Potato Harvesting equipment, Conveyor Piler Sizer ETC. Potato windrower, Rock windrower, Potato Harvester, Rock Harvester. Potato Trucks, Dump trucks, Backhoe, Dozer, Road Grader, 18 wheeler semis. Various tillage implements.
Crops: Alfalfa, Barley, Hay, Potatoes
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
