Job description
Workers will prepare cows by vaccinating and feeding them to their adequate body score so they can calve without any complications. During breeding season workers will watch cows closely as they go through labor, preventing or assisting them when problems such as dystocia occur. Workers will also relocate cows and calves to the barns and stables for the winter so that they can be properly cared for so they will be more likely to re-bread next cycle. Once weather conditions improve cows and calves will be moved back out to pasture. Workers will care and develop the calf crop on a daily basis by vaccinating, ear tagging, branding, doctoring, and assisting calves and heifers with care management. During the summer while the cows are out to pasture workers will repair fences and clean barns and stables. They will also assist with putting heifers up for sale if needed. During the month of March, workers will also perform sheep shearing if needed.
