Job description
We operate a diversified crop farming operation where we grow 2000 acres of cotton, 1000 acres of corn and 800 acres of peanuts. 80% of our fields are irrigated with center pivots. We use John Deere tractors with green star guidance systems. Employees will be required to operate tractors with green star guidance systems while plowing and picking peanuts, employees will also be operating dump carts, a grain combine, light and heavy tillage equipment. Late model John Deere model equipment will be used. Experience with Greenstar GPS is beneficial. Previous experience operating a bulldozer and excavator will also be beneficial. Employees will complete routine repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment. They will be required to organize and clean the workshop and workshop yard. Welding and mechanical experience is beneficial. Employees will need to install and complete maintenance on irrigation pipes. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, frequent stooping, repetitive movements, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Require a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
