Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate a variety of grains like wheat, corn, barley, canola, durum. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and incidental repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. General farm maintenance, lubrication and land improvement like fencing, rock removal, cleaning ditches, and mowing. Assist in seed cleaning and production of seed. Receive, unload, separate, classify, and test canola, wheat, durum, flax, soybean, and barley. Treat seed with pesticides and fungicides. Condition, store, monitor, and log all seed received and processed. Clean trucks, equipment, and storage bins before and after each load of seed.

Equipment: Sprayer, semi-truck, 4-WD tractors LG, Air seeder, small tractors.

Crops: Barley, Beans, Canola, Corn, Dry Beans, Pinto Beans, Spring Wheat

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
