Job description
Seine stock ponds to harvest stocker catfish and transfer to grow-out ponds.
Feed fish. Feed nursery ponds feed the fingerlings and brood stockfish;
Monitor and correct oxygen levels in water (days and some nights) observe fish behavior and physical condition.
Harvest fish from ponds and load on trucks, (wade in the pond to position net using the foot to keep the mud line of the net on the bottom,)
Check brood ponds, collect brood fish ready to spawn, and transport to the hatchery. Strip eggs from brood fish, fertilize eggs and place eggs in hatching troughs.
Monitor hatchery, clean hatching troughs by hand, feed fry, clean and disinfect hatching jars. Transfer fry to nursery ponds.
After spawning consolidates brood fish to holding ponds.
Monitor water temperature and oxygen levels in the holding and fingerling ponds.
Perform typical farm and pond maintenance: levee repair and maintenance; pull weeds, mow grass, clean and store equipment, etc. uses seines, dip nets, waders, gloves uses oxygen meter and/or chemical test kit.
Operate farm equipment-tractor, etc.

Special Requirements
Able to drive a tractor. Able to operate weed eaters, mowers. Use hand tools, shovels, hoes. Able to swim-ponds are 4-6 deep. Work inside and outside in various weather conditions (100-degree temp., light rain). Able to perform physically demanding job duties. Must be available for the entire contract period and able to perform all job duties. Hours of work may vary due to weather conditions and job duties. Applicants meeting all qualifications required must possess documents to complete INS Form I-9 and be available at the time and place necessary to begin employment. Drug screening at Delta Hybrid Farms expense is conducted once the job offer is accepted and prior to beginning work on the Delta Hybrid Farms job site.
