Bee Keeper

Job description

Employees will construct and assemble beehives, identify the queen, identify diseases, pests, and other vital hive details to maintain the colony's health. Clean work areas, supering hives, clean and split hives. Must be able to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50 lbs., work in excessive humidity, and heat up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Climbing, walking, standing, reaching, balancing, sitting, stooping, heavy bending, squatting, and lifting will be involved on a daily basis. Wash, clean: equipment, and grounds area. Maintain bee yard, by raking around the grounds around the beehives so that the queen bee does not suffocate by the covering of the remanents from the trees. Position may require incidental driving related to activities.

Special Requirements

Workers must have no fear of bees and be non-allergic to bee stings, pollen, honey or other products of the hive.
