Landscape Laborer

Job description

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Lay sod, mow, trim, plant, weeding, watering, dig holes with shovel, rake, blow leaves; spread grass seed, fertilizer and mulch; sprinkler installation/repair, installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning. May drive company truck to transport crews, plants, materials and tools to/from or at worksites.

Minimum 35 hours per week up to 48 hours per week. Normal work days Monday-Saturday 7:30am-4:30pm, depending on weather conditions. Shift includes 1 hour unpaid break time.

Basic wage rate: $15.51 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure or having a clean U.S. driver’s license. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek; and if an employee works 7 consecutive days without reaching 40 hours the employee will be paid at time-and-a-half for hours worked on the 7 consecutive day in the workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $23.27 per hour based on locality the work is performed and the base rate of pay offered per hour. Bonuses and extra compensation may be offered at employer’s discretion. A single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Workers will be paid biweekly.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
Must pass a post-employment criminal background check and post-employment, post-injury or incident drug test, paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
