Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Climbing on top of grain bins. Moving grain bin elevator. Cleaning out grain pits. Getting in grain sweeps, unloading grain bins. Being involved in rice, corn, soybean, irrigation. Chemical spraying. Shoveling. Pivot irrigation repair, changing tires, gearboxes, etc. Some farm construction and electrical work. Welding, welding pipes, etc. Typical farm mechanic work.

Equipment: Tractor, truck, combine

Crops: Sorghum, Soy Beans, Wheat

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
