Job description

Plant and harvest sod. Planting, mowing, watering, harvesting, loading using equipment. Sod can weigh anywhere from 10lbs to 25 lbs each piece. Workers may apply seeds to fields by hand or equipment that also handling 50-80 lb bags of seed, fertilizer, hydro mulch and large bales of straw, climbing up and down ladders, clip or mow fields, cut, roll, stack, lay when needed and prepare for shipping of sod. Load and unload trucks by hand or machine. Work fields to prepare for next crop, putting down net material which consists of laying out netting and bending down to the ground or stooping every 3 ft. to put a stake in the ground.
Bending, stooping, standing for long periods at a time, climbing.
Plant, weed, fertilize, harvest and load corn, wheat and soybeans.
Working in extreme weather heat or cold for long hours per day.

Working days and hours may vary due to work delays or stoppages caused by too much rain; causes the ground to become too wet to cut or run machines.

Special Requirements

Lifting requirements 10 lbs to 80 lbs.

Workers may be subject to random alcohol /drug tests at the employer's expense. All testing will occur after the worker begins his/her employment and is not a part of the interview process.
