Job description
Our operation farms 14,000 acres in West Texas, that consists of cotton, wheat, sorghum sudan, and milo. Our operation is irrigated and dryland crops, that uses drip irrigation and pivots. Employees are expected to run and operate John Deere tractors, combines, cotton strippers, and planting equipment. Other expected duties include operating and repairing irrigation systems such as row water, drip, and pivots, being able to repair equipment, such as replacing bearings, repairing hydraulic hoses and cylinders, and general daily service and repairs on machinery. Employees are expected to be able to hoe, spot spray, and assist in weed control. Skills that would be beneficial are general farm construction and welding capabilities in order to complete general farm duties. Employees will assist with all aspects of growing these crops, and complete all general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license within 30 days of hire. Require 3 months experience.
