Job description
Soybeans, Corn, Wheat, Rice, and Milo (Grain Sorghum): Workers will perform general farm labor as instructed by the supervisor. Workers may drive grain trucks to transport crops from storage to mill. Workers may disk, cultivate and prep ground to get ready for planting crops. Workers will inspect and maintain farm equipment and machinery. Workers may be asked to drive workers to/from housing, worksite, and grocery store. May be asked to drive tractors with implements attached, such as: disk, hippers, field cultivator, land plane, bedder roller, etc. Workers may use the following tools: shovels, hoes, and other mechanical tools to help maintain the farm equipment and machinery. Workers may be asked to help with crop irrigation activities such as: laying polypipe, walking the polypipe and poking holes where needed, etc. Raises and bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker, at the employer’s discretions, based on individual factors including but not limited to, performance, experience, number of hours worked in the season, number of seasons worked with the company, adherence to work rules and ability to follow supervisor instructions.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years or older. No minimum education required. Minimum of three (3) months experience in planting, cultivating, and harvesting soybeans, and corn is required. Employer may conduct a criminal background check on all new applicants at the employers expense. Valid Drivers License required to operate the companys vehicles. Safety training for use of farm equipment & tractors will be provided. The ability of an employee to safely operate machinery will be left to the discretion of management. To ensure the safety of all employees, those interested in operating machinery must be able to communicate with & adequately follow instructions given by management. Management reserves the right to restrict employees from operational duties who do not show proficiency to effectively communicate with management & may therefore place other employees safety in risk. All tools, supplies, & equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Must be able to lift 5-60 lbs.
