Job description

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.

On the job training provided.

Minimum 35 hours per week, up to possible 40 hours per week. Work schedule may vary, normal 5-day schedule Monday - Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm, two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid break. Work days and shift time may vary with weather. Overtime required when necessary.

$16.78/hr. Employer reserves the option to provide additional compensation for performance and tenure or may increase wages based on changes in market conditions. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $25.17 per hour based on locality the work is performed and the base rate of pay offered per hour. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Paid weekly.

Transportation provided from main worksite in Roanoke County to multiple worksites within Richmond, Montgomery, Campbell, Wythe, Albemarle, James City, Rockbridge, Botetourt, Henry, Smyth, Salem City, and Rockingham Counties, VA.

Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, equipment, and uniform required to perform job.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs. Post-injury/incident and reasonable suspicion drug test cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, US and foreign/H2B. Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, including holidays as required. Applicants must complete an employment application.
