Job description
Perform roadside landscaping work, clear brush and remove litter and debris from roadside areas. Mechanical and hand mowing of roadside vegetation including right-of-way mowing along urban and rural sections of interstate and other highway system roads. Mow on highway medians, interchange infield areas, and other roadside areas; mow around signs, guardrails, delineators, mailboxes, bridges, and intersections. Mechanical mowing includes tractor mowing with sickle bars, rotary mowers, batwing mowers, flail mowers, zero-turn mowers and guardrail mowers. Use hand mower and line trimmer. Place signs and cones around work areas for traffic control. Service equipment; grease, sharpen blades, etc. May drive trucks to transport crews and equipment to work sites.
Minimum 35 hours per week, up to possible 40 hours per week. Work schedule may vary, normal 5-day schedule Monday - Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm, 30-minute unpaid break. Work days and shift time may vary with weather. Overtime required as necessary.
$16.67/hr. Employer reserves the option to provide additional compensation for performance and tenure or may increase wages based on changes in market conditions. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $25.01 per hour based on locality the work is performed and the base rate of pay offered per hour. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Paid weekly.
Transportation provided from main worksite in Spartanburg County to multiple worksites within Spartanburg, Laurens, Pickens and Union Counties, SC.
Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform job.
Special Requirements
Post-injury/incident and reasonable suspicion drug test cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, US and foreign/H2B. Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, including holidays as required. Must have or be willing/able to obtain a drivers license. Applicants must complete an employment application.
