Job description
We farm 14,000-acres small grains consisting of canola, corn, wheat, and soybean. Additionally, we have 500-acres of hay and alfalfa land to be put up normally June-July. We have 2500-acres of pastureland. We use mainly John Deere equipment. All areas of farming duties are expected including, planting, rock picking, harvesting, trucking, shop and yard upkeep, fencing, and any other misc. chores are expected of all employees on the farm. Workers must be organized, reliable, start workday early morning. responsible for cleaning their living quarters. Job duties include all farm and yard work such as but not limited to planting crops, loading fertilizer & seed, harvesting crops, unloading trucks, filling bins using augers, fueling machinery, cleaning windows, greasing machinery, combining, grain cart operating. Trucking, hauling to and from the field and storage locations, tarping trucks, fueling, and cleaning trucks. Job will also include general farm duties such as picking rock with a picker, some manual rock picking as well, lawn mowing and trimming along with regular yard maintenance, fencing repair, possible tear outs and new installs normally completed as a group, wrenching, routine maintenance on all machinery, oil changes, flipping drill blades and more. Also include hauling garbage out and cleaning/organizing the workshop, filling water tanks, and hauling tanks out to the sprayers, cutting/raking/baling and gathering hay bales. Will also include trucking hay to our yard. Will need to maintain equipment in for example, replace cycles, net wrap, etc. as needed. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Job requires repetitive movements, frequent stooping, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license and employee must be able to obtain a CDL or equivalent within 30 days of hire. Require 3 months experience.
