Job description
We operate a grain and hay farm. We plant corn, soybeans, and wheat and bale about 4000 bales of hay and straw annually. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of our crop filing. Employees will need to operate farm equipment including John Deere tractor, combines and other farm equipment/implements to till, plant, spray, harvest and haul these crops. Employees will need to operate manual clutch transmission semi-trucks to haul the crops from fields to storage locations. Employees will need to lay field tile to help with draining in fields. Employees will complete general farm duties including mowing, spraying ditches, and other related duties. Employees will be required to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Employees will be required to operate equipment safely and following safety equipment requirements. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Must be able to drive a semi-truck is a plus. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. We complete post-hire random drug testing at no cost to the employees to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. We require a regular drivers license and must be able to obtain a CDL or equivalent to operate trucks. We require 3 months experience.
