Job description
We are a row crop farming operation. We plant sod, corn, peanut, and cotton. We do all farming practices from pre-planting to harvesting. We operate heavy machinery and equipment that accommodate various implements. Our tractors are equipped with guidance. Our practices begin in February year with preparing the land to plant, including harrowing and plowing. We begin to plant and sow the land in March and may continue the planting through the spring. The spraying in done with heavy equipment. Irrigating the crops all year as needed is a common practice. Irrigation systems must be monitored while running, for unforeseen events. Complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment where common duties include greasing, oiling, blowing filters out, fueling and cleaning and any other items it requires to maintain equipment every day to ensue equipment always runs properly. Common duties include driving tractors that pull the proper implements to do the jobs as they need doing. Duties also require driving a truck from location to location as farming practices are done. Once harvest is over, duties include cleaning and preparing equipment for winter storage.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, walking and frequent stooping. Require a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
