Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair/maintenance to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Preparing fields for planting crops, caring for crops, spraying crops, harvesting crops, preparing fields for winter, harvesting hay, welding, carpentry work, farm building repair, cutting trees, installing and tearing out fencing, mowing/weed eating, general seasonal farm work.

Crops: Alfalfa, Grain, Silage, Soy Beans, Corn

Equipment: Tractor, planter, disc, plow, sprayer, combine, wagons, semi truck-trailer, sickle mower, windrower, flatbed trailer, payloader, skid loader, mower, chopper, pick up truck, trucks, fork lift, ATV/UTV, irrigation, disc bind mower, hydro swing mower, loader tractor, telehandler, chainsaw.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
