Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine and sprayer. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. General daily seasonal farm duties. Drive 18 wheel grain truck and trailer (10 speed manual transmission) to transport harvested crops from field to grain storage on farm. Position trailer over unloading equipment and operate equipment to unload grain to storage bin. Loading trucks require some grain to be shoveled and the bin floor swept clean as the grain is being removed from the bottom of bin.

Crops: Corn, Rice, Soy Beans, Wheat

Equipment: John Deere equipment :S780 Combine, 630D draper header, 608C corn header. Tractors : 8295R (2), 8270R & 6145R ,4630 sprayer, 4 & 6 cylinder diesel engines used for irrigation (John Deere, Case IH & Duetz), 1720 MaxEmerge 12 row planter, Grain Pump. Great Plains planters :PL5200 twin row, 12 row planter, 2520F grain drill.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
