Horticultural Worker

Job description

The job will consist of, but is not limited to, the following tasks: assemble and maintain watering lines and mist systems; operate and maintain heaters and pot/flat filling machine; remove snow from greenhouse structure; stack plants by variety; weed flower beds and pots; manipulate topiary forms and plant shapes; transplant plants; operate forklift and front end loader; operate power tools; change plastic films on greenhouses; help assemble and relocate greenhouses and benches; interact with customers. Must have the ability to identify and name plants on sight.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
