Job description
This application is for Ag Equipment Operators and encompasses: the production of onions, sweet potatoes, asparagus, beans, corn, sugar beets, mint, hemp, and row crops.
The lifting requirement is 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs., the worker may ask for assistance in lifting.
Specific Job Requirements:
Workers will be responsible for driving and controlling farm equipment to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops.
Agricultural Equipment Operation Duties:
1. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production and field preparation such as tractors, irrigation equipment and other commonly used equipment in agriculture.
2. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery.
3. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
4. Will operate tractors to work and plow ground and move bins in and out of fields.
5. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases using tractor or hand sprayers.
6. Drive vehicles and equipment to haul crops, supplies, tools or workers.
During harvest, workers will be driving harvest vehicles and may have the opportunity to work night shifts. This harvest operation runs 24 hours a day.
Special Requirements
Paychecks
Paychecks are issued biweekly. Workers are responsible for following employers guidance on time keeping for payroll hours. It is forbidden to falsify time records, to clock in or out for another person or to ask someone to clock in or out on someone elses behalf. It is against company policy to pay cash; all pay is issued via company checks.
Pay Stubs
The employer will furnish to the worker on or before each payday a written statement showing the workers total earnings, hourly rate, piece rate, hours of work offered, hours worked, itemization of deductions, units produced if paid by piece rate, beginning and ending dates of pay period, employers name, employers address and employers Federal Identification number in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(k).
