Job description

Job requires the operation of farm equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, harvesters, balers, ATVs, mowers and trucks to till soil; work and prepare land and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest and transport crops to storage locations. Job will also require participating in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment and clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots; draining excess water from fields; monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; using hand tools to remove undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects from fields; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, fences, gates, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, cleaning and maintaining farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; and welding. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often, and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Job will require periods of exposure to varying weather conditions and extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, frequent stooping or bending, and repetitive movements. Random drug-screening and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employer's expense to ensure the safety of housing and worksite locations and conditions.
