Job description
Mix pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application. Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals,
according to formulas. Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated
areas. Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions,
droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. Start motors and engage machinery,
such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. Connect hoses and nozzles
selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities.
Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand
tools. Provide driving instructions to truck drivers to ensure complete coverage of designated areas,
using hand and horn signals. Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance
Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience & Pesticide is licensure required - will be provided at no cost to the worker. Able to obtain a CDL w/in 30 days of hire. Lift & carry items weighing up to 60lbs. Worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing, pulling and sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving heavy equipment and driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination
